Watching Nancy Grace tonight it was interesting to see that she had Marc Klaus on and his daughter had been kidnapped in the early 90s. Nancy was talking to him as someone whose opinion she respected. oddly enough if this was the early days of the Pauly Klaus investigation, Nancy would be aggressively taunting Marc as though he were guilty. We now know he is innocent but Nancy has literaly caused people to commit suicide on less information than she had on Marc Klaus. Tonight , she knew very few of the facts and she was jumping to conclusions as this braud often does. It was about a poor girl who went to the store with her sex offender uncle and she was found dead. Nancy said the girls mother should be brought up on charges for letting her go off with a sex offender. Now, maybe the mother didnt believe he was even guilty. Maybe she didnt know the girl went with him. That woman LOST HER CHILD. And Nancy wants her head on a platter. When I was young I used to think that the worst thing that could happen to a human mind is to become DeSensitized to all of the inhumanity which is seen all around us and in documentaries. I was wrong. The worst thing is not becoming desensitized, but totally bored by such things. It seems that many people today are well beyond the desensitization stage, and they are quite simply bored to tears by the human atrocities which occur everyday. There is a really good book which was written from the point of view of "the Victim". I cant remember who wrote it, I know that it was NOT Dylan Klebold, who also viewed himself as a victim. Any punishment which goes beyond a court ordered sentence is an act of vigilantism. An act of Getting Even, outside the scope of law. The concept of getting even is a primitive form of justice. The law was invented to resolve these problems which have plagued humankind for thousands of years, and so whenever there is any kind of dispute it is a JUDGE who decides what is fair, and his ruling is FINAL. The problem with victims is that they go around kiling people, like Berhard Goetz who shot a couple passengers in a subway in NY. Victims are taking the law into their own hands, and victims are breaking the law left and right. Victims are the ones who are contributing to crime in America today, and they need to be monitored very carefully by the authorities. To be perfectly fair, there should be a website with the names, pictures, and home addresses of all victims in a given area, they should be required to register with the local police department. Victims should be required to identify themselves on job applications and leases, and loans, and other business related documentation. Victims should not be allowed to live within 2,000 feet of a school, nor should they be allowed to vote. Victims should be denied fishing licenses, and should not be allowed to own firearms. Now, that would be fair. Because a person is sentenced to do their time by court order, but the punishment never ends. Every infraction in the USA will result in a life sentence, no matter how trivial. And so for the punishment to fit the crime, the intensity of victimization must be increased to match up with what felons are forced to endure every day in this dump. This is a mechanism of actual fairness and justice, and Nature will impose the balance. That is why crime is out of control, because people like Nancy are given free reign to victimize felons even after they have served their sentences. You cannot have it both ways. Either there is justice, or there is not. And you cannot go back and re-punish people for the rest of their lives without repercussion. Nancy seems to think that Law = Punishment. That is not the case. The law is not a hammer, nor is it a marshmallow. It is people like Nancy who actually perpetuate crime by pushing the law further than it was intended to go in the first place. She represents a mindset. A mindset of people who are perplexed by various modern problems, and they become frustrated by the difficulty of finding a solution. Nancys biggest fallacy is the very premise that she is a victim advocate. Ironically, this is true. The function of a prosecutor is to represent the spirit of the law, i.e. "the people", and it is the Judge who decides who has been victimized and to what extent. Her inherent bias and her favoritism that she shows for her own hand picked subset of "victims" is proof that she unfit to practice as a prosecutor, or even practice law at all. Do you honestly think that she would ever defend someone who had been accused of a crime ? I doubt it. Yet, being a lawyer is NOT the same thing as playing baseball. There are no teams, even though in our ultra corrupted climate of legal outrages....this is exactly the mentality of so many lawyers and even judges. I have no doubt that Timothy McVeigh also viewed himself exactly as Nancy does, a defender of "victims". And no doubt Osama bin Ladin considers himself to be a defender of "victims" as well. The problem with Bin Ladin, McVeigh, Nancy and Bethany Marshall is that they have "judged" for themself who is and who is not a victim. They picked their own pet subgroup to represent, and they completely disregard the rest. And that is why we need Judges, to balance the defense against prosecution. Nancy does not seem to understand legal theory, because she puts herself in the shoes of a judge. There is no need to do so unless one is in a lynchmob. And Bethany Marshall does not seem to understand medicine. She seems to use psychology as a weapon, instead of as a tool to heal the sick. It is the equivalent of a pharmacist who goes around poisoning people, or an orthopaedist who goes around breaking kneecaps.
